Scotland's unique hotel and hospitality awards

“The flagship awards for the Scottish hotel industry” - First Minister

Make sure you, your hotel and people have the advantage and pleasure of being part of the Scottish Hotel Awards’ year-round process. Attend the famous Awards Night Party as a nominee, perhaps. Be included in the all-new Gold Guide to Scottish Hotels 2013 and in editorial in Scotland Magazine. Together with a new Scottish hotel feedback website, the awards scheme is expanding in 2013.

The 10th annual 'Scottish hotel Oscars' (-The Herald) will be held on Sunday April 28th 2013. They are "Scotland's flagship hotel awards", said First Minister who has presented the top awards. The official awards website has operated since 2003 and has been revamped for 2013. The guide website, launched when the Tourism Minister presented the first reception plaque, is being redesigned this summer as a fully-integrated Scottish hotel feedback and year-round voting and guide site. It will be re-launched shortly as the Scottish Hotel Awards Feedback hotel guide.

Below is information on joining the scheme. If you would like to discuss things first from a judging / editorial / assessment perspective, please e-mail the scheme Chairman, Gary McLean-Quin, who will be pleased to hear from you.

Joanne Robertson, Membership Sales Manager for The Scottish Hotel Awards Scheme

"From when I began working with Haymarket Publications in the 1990s, I have been involved with magazines and websites dedicated to the Hotel, Food and Drinks industries. These included Wine & Spirit International and Travel Retail magazine, and for the last ten years after moving to Paragraph Publishing I headed up the advertising sales and promotions for Whisky Magazine and Scotland Magazine. Hotels in Scotland have played a huge part in both the editorial and advertising of these magazines and I am familiar with many of the hotels that I am looking forward to working with for the Scottish Hotel Awards Scheme."

Terms & Conditions

Membership of the awards is annually renewing and the fee on joining is for one year. To cancel, please note the Terms & Conditions policy of 3 months’ notice before the expiry of your membership. If a hotel cancels on receipt of a renewal invoice (i.e. without giving notice) then a cancellation fee equivalent to 6 months’ membership fee will be charged. This is because we will already have been working on the following year’s participation for the hotel awards. Taking out Membership is an acceptance of this condition, which we hope you will understand as a matter of fairness to all Members to enable us to forward plan.
